What we did
Weerwi is a chatbot built on large language models (LLMs) to answer young girls’ questions about menstrual health. The project was led by the Dakar Institute of Technology (DIT), in a consortium with kaikai, ApiAfrique and It4Life, and funded by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation through Grand Challenges Canada.
kaikai organised the focus groups with young girls, supported project management and the consortium’s follow-up meetings, and wrote the final report.
Results
Two certificates: one from the funder, the other from the consortium lead (DIT, 5 June 2025), which highlights kaikai’s quality, responsiveness and expertise.
